A music(al) fair(y) tale

music fair has a share in church history … and also makes a contribution to musical history.

Originally music fair started as a youth choir of the parish "Jedlesee" in the 21 st district of Vienna, and still is located there today. The youth is gone for most of the singers, but many of them were busy raising offspring – perhaps a future ‘New Generation’?

For the last 25 years music fair contributed a lot to church history - that is Jedlesee’s church history: many masses were arranged, the choir was always present at baptisms, weddings, and other church festivals.

The ensemble is devoted to a cappella-songs for several voices while the choirmaster tries to arrange sixteen voices into well-tempered tones.

For 25 years Dr. Herbert Fritsche led the choir. Honourable turned grey, he resigned in the end of 2004 from his function as choirmaster and chairman of the 'singing association' (registered since 1995). After that 'mouthdrummer' Gerhard Altmann conducted and directed the choir. Since 2008 Claudia Kopal is musical Director.
